Ankara (African Wax Print) fabric is a widely accessible material found in West & Central Africa that is used for garments. The fabric originated from Indonesia (Batik) and was adopted by the Dutch whom brought it to Africa. The fabric is known for the many patterns and bright colors its created in. The designs and patterns are near limitless and all are beautiful in their own rights. The Ankara band was created utilizing a patten from a myriad of fabrics found within a local atelier.
